ABOUT THE FARM

In the foothills of Loveland, Colorado

Tom and Suzanne have spent their lives rooted in the farm and ranching world. Golden Valley reflects their vision of sustainability, locally sourced products, and regenerative practices.

Sharing the joy of farm life is at the heart of everything we do. Through a variety of services, we aim to make a meaningful, positive impact in our local community.

Meet The Team

GVF is home to miniature and full size horses, mini donkeys, registered Tamworth pigs, goats, and chickens. From education to comfort and pork to eggs, every animal plays a role in the farm operation.

Entertainment Coordinator

Suzanne

I was an elementary school teacher for 38 years and maintain my connection to kids through my mini horses, donkeys, and goats. From reading buddies to retirement home visits, my minis bring smiles everywhere they go. Contact us if you'd like a mini to come visit.

Pig & Poultry Farmer

Tom

I have been a part of farm and ranch work for most of my life, but always working for other operations. GVF has been an opportunity for us to produce high-quality products that support local food systems using regenerative and sustainable practices. Contact us if you're interested in farm-fresh, pasture-raised pork and poultry products.

Shakti & Paale Together 1.jpg

Security

Shakti & Paale

Shakti means power and Paale means guard in Nepali. These two Turkish Boz livestock guard dogs make sure all of the critters on the farm are safe. They are the sweetest dogs until something wants to cause harm to one of their farm buddies.

Sprout for Website.jpg

Mini Donkey

Sprout

Sprout has the softest gray coat and the gentlest eyes. Wherever he goes—hospitals, schools, and quiet living rooms—he carries a special kind of magic that doesn’t sparkle, but soothes. Sprout reminds everyone he meets that comfort and healing can come on four small hooves.

Registered Tamworth Boar

Otis

Otis is as gentle as they come. He weighs in at about 600 pounds and consistently delivers on his sole purpose.

Registered Tamworth Sow

Betsy

Betsy is one of six breeding sows on the farm. Pasture-raised pigs enjoy the freedom to roam, graze, and stay active. They are incredibly hearty and healthy. Betsy's very first litter had 11 happy, healthy piglets!

GOLDEN VALLEY LAND STEWARDSHIP

From our chicken tractor which provides mobile fertilization to our care for native plant diversity across the property, we hope to create a little oasis where natural ecosystems thrive in tandem with our animals.

It is important to us that we acknowledge that Golden Valley Farm rests on Cheyenne, Sioux, Arapaho, and Ute Nation's land. They were the original stewards of this land and we strive to care for in their ways.

By this acknowledgment, we value and affirm their continued connection to the land and we strive to uphold Golden Valley Farm as a place of inclusion for all peoples.
